Stanbridge is a 420 place primary school, located in Downend, South Gloucestershire. The school boasts two school halls and a wonderful large playing field. We have two classes per year group from Reception to Year 6.
I was appointed as permanent Head Teacher of Stanbridge in September 2012 after a year of secondment at the school. Mr. McGovern is our Deputy Head Teacher.
If you visit our school you will be warmly welcomed and you will have the opportunity to see children at work and play. We pride ourselves on a curriculum that is rich, relevant and engaging and we encourage children to ask questions, investigate and explore.
Our ethos is inclusive and ensures the children are at the centre of all we do.
We have two golden rules:
Everyone has the right to feel happy and safe in school
Everyone has the right to work without distractions

A MESSAGE FROM OUR HEAD TEACHER
MISS F. BERTHAM
Each class creates a ‘class charter’ from these two rules and this is central to our positive behaviour policy. Our motto Aim high and fly is used each and every day and is lived and breathed by the children and staff. We even have a school song written by Mr Woods.
A brief introduction to our school.
The staff and school community at Stanbridge want the best for every single child. Our motto, Aim high and Fly! Strive to new heights together... is central to all we do. We encourage children to do their best and work hard to ensure they meet their potential.
We are prepared to ‘go that extra mile’ to ensure our school is the best it can be. We are proud of the recent developments within our school.
